I wanted to share with you guys these links about a great studio called Headless Productions.
They say when you want to stay inspired - surround yourself with inspiring people and inspiring things. So this is one of my sources of inspiration. And my eyes just melt from satisfaction when I watch the work of these great people.
Not that this is symbolic for Vienna, but I was very impressed by the greatness of most of the buildings there. And of course the amount of the statues and details on the buildings was stunning. When I came back to Sofia, most of the buildings felt empty and unfinished :)
I wasn't sure if it is good idea to post this here, but this is one of the things that doesn't happen every day, so I am sharing the AM November Newsletters with you:
*Thanks to the editor, I probably sound better than I did back then. She nicely manage to cut out all of my stupidity /thanks Amanda!/. This video was taken in Animation Mentor headquarters, when I was in the states for my graduation.
Cheers!
I was called a witch last week :)))))) .. and in honor of that this is what I've done /and somehow this perfectly fits the incoming Halloween!/
I am experimenting lately with the painting process.. and this is the latest result.
This is specially for my dear friend Av :)
Thank you, for knowing how to find my inspiration when I loose it.
Ok, some latest news... I can proudly present this sweet thingy:
http://www.animationmentor.com/showcase2010/
.. which we all waited for so long.
And I wanted to say how proud I am to be in it, next to so many amazing people! Most of them I met personally on our graduation ceremony in LA last month. It was one of the greatest moments I have experienced ever so far :))))
I can spend years trying to express how HAPPY I fell about all this, but it will be useless. It is a product of tons of hours of work, tons of sleepless night, tons of feedback!, tons of despair, tons of fixes and last but not least - tons of fun.
I also don't want to miss giving the credits to the AM staff, which makes AM so spacial and awesome! Bobby, Shawn and Carlos.. thank you too :)
And finally after hours and hours of fixing, rendering, fixing again.. and again rendering.. and probably some rendering in the close future, I present you my "year and a half sweat and tears work". Although there was a lot of pleasure too... and I can assure you it was much more than the tears :P.
So.. it is not perfect, but it is the best work I have, done with tons of love and dedication.
I just want to add a "thank you from the bottom of my heart" note ...
I want to thank all the AMers for helping with their feedback. You were so great!!! Love you all! I can't thank enough AM for giving me the chance to meet you all.
I want to thank my super amazing and awesome mentors, that lead me through this great adventure: Jalil Sadol, JoshBook, George Schermer, Paul Mendoza, Mark Pullyblank and Kenny Roy. You are amazing! I still can't believe I had the opportunity to have your awesome critiques.
And thank you, to my lead and my boss/endlessly!!! Thank you Gabs!/, for not dismissing me from work :))) /Hopefully I was doing my work well enough! I tried my best./
And of course /last but definitely not least/, thank you to all the people /especially my mum, sis and boyfriend ;)/, that supported me and was next to me, no matter how grumpy and tired I was :)))) /and I was hell tired and hell grumpy!/
... I am not at the Oscars, I know... I just needed to write down what I think :) And I have never had the chance to share this .. so..
After soooo long I can hold a pencil again, without feeling guilty :P Sigh of relief...
... and this is my class 5 progress - two characters shot...
This was the toughest and the most sleepless of all classes so far /and the hardest time in my life ever ever ever!!!/
I am stepping in class 6 now, so one can never know what it will be like till it is all over. Unfortunately this is my last shot for AM, coz we are going to polish our so far shots for our demo reel /I am sure it will be a cool term though :) /
Cheers
PS. And make sure you sleep enough!
OK, so this is coming a bit late.. I am still not completely satisfied with what I have, but after all we are still learning and I hope I'll fix what I do not like in class 6, because we have to do demo reel polishing all term.
The lip sync of the girl I did in the beginning of class 5.
New Happy Year everyone! I'm sorry that I am not as regular blogger as I want to... but hopefully 2010 will be an year with much more time for drawing! I wish this year to bring to all of us tons of smiles and happy moments!
